Quick Tip #1: How to make a zip folder

A couple of days ago I launched this section called Quick Tips here in the website and on my YouTube Channel because most things you can learn to do on a computer are pretty straight forward and fast to do and learn. For my first tip, I show how to make a zip folder.

Making a zip folder is useful for common things such as saving space on your hard drive and sending emails. In the video I show how to make a zip folder with two videos that are approximately 19 to 16 MB big and the sum of both is around 37 MB, so sending these to someone through my Gmail account in a single email is not possible (Gmail only lets you attach files up to 25 MB big).

I also see making zip folders useful when you don’t have enough space on your computer and/or a flash drive. For example, have you ever ran out of flash drive space at school and have nowhere to save your file? It hasn’t happened to me yet, but it could at any time. What you can do is make a new zip folder on your flash drive and drop some files you already have into it and any new files you have to save and problem solved!
To make a brand new zip folder (not like in the video) you need to right-click your desktop or any folder window and select new > compressed (zipped) folder.

I hope this comes in handy to you and if you have any questions feel free to leave a comment here, on theYouTube video page, on my Twitter, on my Facebook page or email me at pcmadeeasymail@gmail.com. If you have other kind of question not related to this Quick Tip, please leave a request here

Have a Good Day!
